Handler began working on The Tonight Show as a correspondent. Handler's biggest breakthrough was in 2006, when she began hosting her show on E! known as The Chelsea Handler show. The Chelsea Handler Show ran for two seasons. Handler then performed in America in the Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour. Her stand-up performances were telecast by VH1 along with Comedy Central's Premium Blend as well as HBO. In 2010, it was revealed that she was going to be hosting this year's MTV Video Music Awards. By doing this, she was only the second host female on record, coming after Roseanne.
