Anna Gunn
Anna Gunn is an American actor from the United States. She is most famous for her role as Skyler in the AMC's Breaking Bad drama, and she was the recipient of the Primetime Emmy Award Outstanding Supporting Female Actress in Drama Series 2013 and 2014. Alongside her roles as Martha Bullock and Jean Ward, she has appeared in The Practice. Anna Gunn was born in Sante Fe New Mexico, in 1968. The actress fell in love with acting in the Preparatory school, prior to moving to Ohio together with her family during the early 1970s. She was a theatre student through Northwestern University and spent a semester studying at the British American Drama Academy. Anna began her journey in Chicago, working in theatre roles for many years. After that, she relocated to Hollywood where she started acting in TV shows and films. Anna was the first to get a major part in the role of Arden in the TV show Down the Shore. Down the Shore aired 29 episodes in 1992. Anna continued to appear in movies as well as TV shows such Seinfeld, NYPD Blue and other shows until the end of the 1990's. Then she was placed in The Practice as Jean Ward. Martha Bullock played two full seasons on Deadwood that was shot between 2000 and 2001. The show was recast in Breaking Bad as Skyler, in 2008. Sully was the Deadwood film and a few other films were also starring her. Gunn also took to the stage to play in the David Schwimmer-directed production of Sex With Strangers. The actress starred as Numbered Days, which is a four part audio podcast in 2022. Breaking Bad revolves around Walter White's marriage to Skyler. Walter White's life story as well as the stress on the relationship he has with Skyler are mirrored in the show.
