The stage performances she has performed are also well-known, particularly her role in the role of Emmie Thbodeaux from The Broadway musical Caroline or Change (2004) that earned her the Tony Award Best Featured actress in an Musical. Her nomination was to win an award for the Tony Award Best Featured actor in a play for the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun.
