Anika Noni Rose, an American actress and singer. Most famously, she is the character voiced by Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, the first African American Disney princess. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in 2011. Rose was in Lorrell Robinson, her character in the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni rose (born on the 6th of September 1973) is an American actress and a vocalist. The most famous role she has played is that of Tiana, Disney's first African American princess from The Princess and the Frog (2009). The film was named a Disney Legend in 2011. Her other notable roles include her role in the lead role of Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar-winning film Dreamgirls (2006) and also for her role as LaVerne Jukebox Ganner in The Starz series Power. Her other notable roles include in the theatre, especially for the starring roles of Emmie Thibodeaux and Emmie Broadway performance of Caroline or Change (2004), for which the Tony Award Best Female Featured Performer in a Musical was awarded to her as well as Beneatha Youther in the Broadway Revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2015) in which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Female Featured performance in a play was awarded to her.
