Anika Noni is an American performer and actress. Most famously, she is the vocalist of Tiana In The Princess and the Frog, the one and only African American Disney Princess. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Rose was in the role of Lorrell Robertson, the character in Dreamgirls and was awarded the Academy Award. Anika Noni rose (born on the 6th of September 1973) is an American performer and singing. She was best known for her character Tiana, the Disney Princess who is her first African American princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney named her a Legend in the year 2011. Her name was also honoured for her role on the screen in Dreamgirls (2006) that earned the Academy Award for Best Picture. On the Starz show Power she was the character LaVerne Jukebox Ganner. Her performance in the theater are well-known as well, especially her roles as Emmie Thbodeaux in The Broadway production of the musical Caroline or Change (2004) that earned her an award for the Tony Award Best Featured actress in an Musical. Her nomination was to win an award for the Tony Award Best Featured actor in a production of the Broadway revival A Raisin in the Sun.
