Rose is well known for her part as Lorrell Robinson in Dreamgirls. Anika Rose was born on September 6 on the 6th of September, 1971. She is an American actress and singer. Her most well-known role is portraying Tiana Disney's first princess of African descent as seen in The Princess and the Frog (2009). The Disney Company named her a Legend in 2011. Her name was also honoured for her role as a character in Dreamgirls (2006), which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. On the Starz show Power she played the role of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner. Her performance in the theater are well-known as well, especially her roles as Emmie Thbodeaux from the Broadway show Caroline or Change (2004) that earned her an award for the Tony Award Best Featured actress in a Musical. The show also received her nomination to win her nomination for Tony Award Best Featured actor in a play for the Broadway revival A Raisin in the Sun.

She became known after she was a part of the cult group of M.T.V.'s award-winning show. Jersey Shore (2010, a few episodes) during seasons first and second.
