Adults are person or animal who is at complete growth.The biological definition of the term refers to animals that have reached sexual maturity, which makes it capable of reproducing. Adults are a social concept as well as a legal concept in the human world. As opposed to someone that isn't considered an adult, or "minor" legally adult has reached majority which makes them independent competent, responsible, and capable. The term "major" can be used to describe them. The age at which a child can legally become an adult is 18 years old, however the definition of legal maturity may differ based upon the nation or legal system in place, and also the state of their mental health.

The stage of development for humans that is when physical and mental maturation is attained. Adulthood is typically considered to begin at age 20 or 21 years. The middle age stage, which begins approximately 40 years of age and is followed by the onset of the age of 60 years. The beginning of adulthood occurs between the ages of 18 and 30. The middle age stage begins from the mid-30s through to 60s. Late adulthood starts at the middle of 60s. As we enter the initial stages of adulthood (between 20-40), our bodies are at their peak of maturity, even though the weight and height of our bodies might increase a bit. During young adulthood we reach the peak of our physical ability.
